Meraki Design House
Inspired by an intricate artistic tradition, Meraki flats combine style with substance. They fuse functionality and comfort, with elegant flamboyance.
Carefully constructed for the woman who isn’t afraid to stand out, our flats have a tendency to turn heads.
Whenever Eman Bachani wore designs from her native Pakistan, she noticed the heads turning. Her unconventional shoes were appreciated by one and all. Friends and peers would often praise the unique flats, that were still versatile enough to compliment any outfit.
After graduating from the University of Toronto, Eman knew that she had to introduce these exceptional shoes to more people.
She realized that to tailor these traditional designs to the wardrobe of the modern woman, she had to balance the conventional with the contemporary. Each Meraki shoe is a manifestation of this perfect balance; inspired by age-old crafts, but constructed for the woman of today.
Meraki prides itself on working with skilled artisans, to deliver the highest quality products. We value the talents of our partnering artists immensely, and work very closely with them to ensure that each piece is truly unique. Every Meraki item is the culmination of hundreds of hours of trial, error, and passion.
It is important for us to support communities and skilled artisans. By creating employment opportunities, we hope to contribute to their overall well-being.
When you buy a Meraki pair, you are buying a piece infused with the artist’s soul – their Meraki.
