Why this makes a great gift
Location1331 Zion Line, Millbrook, Ontario, Canada, L0A 1G0
DurationApproximately 3 Hours
Included in ExperienceEach guest will extract, bottle, and label 6 (500g) jars of honey to take home for themselves - a $60 value! You are able to choose from the bottled honey from the session OR from our complete line of natural, infused or creamed honey.
What You Will DoWe will start with an overview of how honeybees produce honey, sample honey & then cruise out to the bee yard to remove some honey supers. We will then return to the barn to cover your step by step honey extraction process.
The honey harvest is by far the most coveted time of year. Our extraction experience is a fun opportunity where guests have the opportunity to experience the final steps of a beekeepers season. Observe, learn & participate in removing honey supers, learn how to prep honey frames and then extract, filter and bottle your own honey to take home.

Hunnabees Honey & Co.
We are third generation beekeepers who first began our adventures beekeeping on Scugog Island in Port Perry, and recently expanded our business to our new farm in Millbrook, Ontario. We aim to reduce the impact of our farm and honey production through ongoing innovation on our farm.
We foster crops which are pollinator friendly, including goldenrod, wildflower and clover. Our farm also features a fresh vegetable garden, acres of flowers (in the works) and some of our best friends, the goats.
As beekeepers, we are committed to education and aim to provide resources for the local community in understanding the role bees play in the greater ecosystem. We have teamed up with local farmers & land owners and added 5 new bee yards within Millbrook in the 2017-2018 season, with a new yard in the North Kawartha Lakes region in 2019.
In the 2020 season we are excited to further our partnership with the Junior Beekeeper program and expand more educational opportunities to the youth in our region. We are excited to formally open the farm to the public and grow our seminar/workshop programmes while also expanding our colonies. 2020 will see our first community wildflower planting event based on our 2018 seasons sales.
Check back for updates as we expand this lovely business.
We look forward to growing with you.
