Product Description

Spend 1-2 hours learning about honeybee behaviour! They are the worlds greatest superorganism with many fascinating characteristics such as the waggle dance, pheromone communication, festooning, buzzing vibrations, altruism, wax construction, honey and pollen synthesis, hygienic behaviour, navigation patterns and signals.

During the 6 hours, you will forge your own handcrafted axe using not much more than a hammer. All materials needed will be provided on site and you get to take your custom axe home with you!

Please select the correct amount of attendees for the experience. For both options, participant(s) will complete one(1) axe.

What You Will Do
The experience begins as soon as you enter the forge. After an initial orientation, students will be provided a piece of metal and learn step-by-step how to heat, hammer and craft their own axe. Learn how to heat carbon steel in a forge and shape it into an axe with an anvil and various hammers. We will walk you through the heat-treating process, and help with grinding, and final sharpening. Solid wood handles will be fitted to your custom axe before you take it home!Inspired by a love of the Canadian wilderness, the blacksmiths at Axcadmy lead you through an experience of building an axe with your hands, directly from the raw materials.

How it Works

First, select the genre of the book(s) (Contemporary Fiction, Historical Fiction, Mystery & Suspense, Romantic Comedy). The exact book received will depend on when the gift is redeemed, and the title for each genre changes seasonally, curated by Indigo’s book experts from recently released books.

Next, select the length of the subscription – you can choose a single shipment, a six month subscription (two shipments), or a 12-month subscription (four shipments).

Finally, select your recipient’s shipping destination – within Ontario, or Rest of Canada (excluding Quebec), and add to your cart!

When your recipient redeems their gift, they will choose the type of wine they’d like, from: a red, white, rosé or sparkling wine.

The exact bottle of wine is selected from a rotating assortment of equal value at the discretion of the Winery and may not be exactly as pictured.
