Three Delicious CBD Mocktails that Pair Perfectly with Food

Explore the possibilities of creating CBD infused mocktails at your next dinner party with these three CBD inspired drink recipes that pair perfectly with food.  

Pairing a mocktail is similar to pairing a wine. You want to create a mix that doesn’t overwhelm the flavours of your food but instead complements them. We’ll let you in on a little secret, opposites can attract. Below are a three adventurous suggestions for CBD infused mocktails from chef, writer and CBD enthusiast, Kate Growney, to pair with delicious dishes you can make for your next dinner party at home.

  

Fresh Parsley Lemonade Mocktail

Suggested food pairing: Fish

 

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water (for simple syrup)

1 cup fresh lemon juice (3 -4 lemons)

2-3 cups of water to dilute

3 bunches fresh flat leaf parsley (for juicing)

Add in CBD tincture to your liking (remember start low go slow)

 

Method:

Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan and heat to a simmer.

Stir until sugar dissolves and allow to cool.

Juice 3-4 lemons for 1 cup fresh lemon juice.

Juice 3 bunches of flat leaf parsley.

Combine simple syrup, lemon juice, and dilute with 2-3 cups of water.

Serve lemonade over ice, then squeeze parsley juice over top of the lemonade and serve.

 

Sparkling Grapefruit & Thyme Mocktail

Suggested food pairing: Chicken

 

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit

1 bunch thyme

Add in CBD tincture to your liking

Sparkling water to taste

 

Method:

Peel the zest of the grapefruit into strips, avoid the white of the citrus (makes it bitter).

Juice grapefruit and put on the side.

Fill glass with ice and top off with sparkling water.

Add grapefruit juice (about three shots) to taste.

Twist a strip of grapefruit and add to drink.

Add 4-5 stalks of thyme to the drink and use to stir to open up flavours and serve

Sour Cherry & Lavender Mocktail

Suggested food pairing: Red Meat

 

Ingredients:

3 spoons of whole sour cherries

(if you don’t have sour cherries you can use cranberry juice because of the tannins)

Lavender bitters

Fresh lavender stalk

Add in CBD tincture to your liking

Sparkling water

 

Method:

Take 2-3 tablespoons of preserved sour cherries (you can add a little juice as well ) and crush and meld on the bottom of a highball glass.

Add few shakes of the lavender bitters.

Add ice, sparkling water and stir thoroughly.

Add lavender stalk to make it pretty.
